[Casa 7A](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/casa-aire) is a luxury villa located in the Colombian countryside, a couple of hours drive from the capital Bogota. The villa was built using local labor and utilizing concrete, sandstone, timber and [sustainably grown teak](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/casa-guaec-project) for the furniture and flooring.

The villa is oriented north-to-south, which helps reduce solar heat gain and keeps the sun on the swimming pool for much of the day to keep it warm; a [solar panel heating system](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/casa-girasol) is also on hand to keep the pool water warm.

Casa 7A also features a ventilated roof and catchment system which collects rainwater which can be used for irrigation.

The most interesting design feature of the residence is the semi-outdoor living space. The space is open and doesn't have walls, but timber screens can be slid across to close off the home when privacy is needed.
