The collection of cartoon lamps is called "Elmer" and is inspired by the animated elephant with the same name. The lamps come in a variety of colors, all of which are relatively muted -- including yellow, blue, black and white styles. The most unique feature of this lamp is its ability to hang off of the desks it is placed on, making it a [versatile lighting product](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/parcel-portable-lamp) that can be strategically placed wherever needed. With metal "ears" and an [oak base](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bobine), these lamps would make for a sophisticated addition to an office desk, a bedside table or a living room. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.9/10 - Popularity: 68% | Activity: 40% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Home](https://www.trendhunter.com/home) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Playful Lamps:** Designing lamps that resemble playful characters from classic cartoons can attract nostalgia-seeking consumers. - **Muted-color Products:** Creating home goods in varying muted colors can attract consumers who prefer subtler accent pieces. - **Versatile Lighting:** Designing lamps to hang off of desks or strategically be placed can attract consumers who prioritize flexibility and multifunctionality. ### Who This Affects Most - **Furniture:** Furniture companies can innovate by adding playful, nostalgic accents to their products, such as animal-inspired lamps. - **Home Goods:** Companies that specialize in home decor and accent pieces can attract consumers by offering versatile and unique lighting products. - **Design and Lighting:** Design studios that specialize in creating trendy, playful, and versatile home lighting products can fill a gap in the market for home decor that offers both nostalgia and functionality. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Cartoon Dog-Inspired Whimsical Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/snoopy-lamp.md) - [Animation-Inspired LED Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/animationinspired-led-lamp.md) - [Colorful Geometric Desk Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spot-on-desk.md) - [Playful Table Lamp Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/toto-lamp.md) - [Japanese Lantern-Inspired Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/madco.md) - [Bulbous Whimsical Lighting Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/neotenic.md) - [Adorable Cartoon Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lightweight-and-adorable.md) - [Mushroom-Inspired Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/humble-lights.md) - [Retro-Tinged Compact Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lari-mini.md)
