# Carpet Alarm Clock Stand Up to Turn Off By scottv | Published 2007-12-17 | Tech Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/carpet-alarm-clock References: [yankodesign](http://www.yankodesign.com/index.php/2007/06/19/carpet-alarm-clock/) Alarm clocks are increasingly an element of design, and gadgets ripe for innovation, ranging from the functional to the aesthetic. Not only does the carpet alarm blends into a bedroom's decor, it requires the sleeper to get out of bed and stand on it to turn it off. It's a fantastic gizmo because it requires more physical effort than simply switching off a standard alarm, increasing the likelihood the user will actually get out of bed. **Implications** - I say, if you still don't find this effective enough, you should put the switch to turn off the alarm as far away from you as possible, perhaps in the corner of your room. Then you truly will be able to benefit from the product's gifts. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.7/10 - Popularity: 65% | Activity: 69% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/gadgets) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Design-focused Alarm Clocks:** Opportunity to create alarm clocks that combine functionality and aesthetics. - **Physical Activity Alarm Clocks:** Innovation potential to develop alarm clocks that require physical effort to turn off. - **Remote Alarm Switches:** Opportunity to create alarm switches that are located far away from the sleeper's bed. ### Who This Affects Most - **Home Decor:** Industry that can benefit from the development of design-focused alarm clocks. - **Fitness and Wellness:** Industry that can explore the market potential of physical activity alarm clocks. - **Smart Home Technology:** Industry that can innovate by developing remote alarm switches integrated into smart home systems. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Accessibility-Focused Alarm Clocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/routine-alarm-clock.md) - [Branded Technology Alarm Clocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/apple-snooze.md) - [Gesture Based Structured Clocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tilt-smart-clock.md) - [Elegant Aromatic Alarm Clocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/paramita-universal-alarm-clock.md) - [Minimal Sleek Rubberized Clocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flip-alarm-clock.md) - [Gentle Alarm Clocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arc-alarm-clock.md) - [Lottery-Inspired Alarm Clocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fortune-clock.md) - [Connected Toy-Like Alarm Clocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cubb-alarm-clock.md) - [Clapperboard-Inspired Desk Clocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/multifunctional-alarm-clock.md)
