# Portable Cardboard Tables The 'Table-Case' Cardboard Table is Crafted from One Piece of Paper By Michael Hemsworth | Published 2016-10-06 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cardboard-table References: [yankodesign](http://www.yankodesign.com/2016/10/06/take-a-table/) & [plus-collaboratives.sg](http://www.plus-collaboratives.sg/) Being able to bring a desk with you seems like a near impossible feat, but the 'Table-Case' cardboard table enables this in a compact, design-conscious way. Designed by [PLUS Collaboratives](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kisawa-sanctuary), the 'Table-Case' is made from a single piece of cardboard that enables it to be folded in a series of ways that transform it into a strong table. When erected, the 'Table-Case' can hold a whopping 220-pounds of weight and will provide a comfortable workstation or table where desired. Crafted with portability and storage as top priorities, the 'Table-Case' cardboard table breaks down into a series of pieces that are stored within the main portion itself. It can then be transported with ease and rebuilt to resume its purpose as a useful piece of furniture. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.6/10 - Popularity: 97% | Activity: 92% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Portable Cardboard Furniture:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: create a line of eco-friendly, affordable, and easily transportable furniture made from cardboard. - **Foldable Furniture:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: design furniture that can be easily folded and stored, making it ideal for small living spaces or for those who frequently move. - **Sustainable Furniture:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: develop furniture made from sustainable materials that are easy to assemble and disassemble, reducing waste and encouraging reuse. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Furniture:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: revolutionize the furniture industry by embracing sustainable materials and creating products that cater to the needs of those in small spaces or who frequently move. - **Packaging:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: explore the potential for using more sustainable materials in packaging, such as cardboard, to reduce waste and promote eco-friendliness. - **Event Planning:** Disruptive innovation opportunity: use portable cardboard furniture as a way to revolutionize event planning, making it easier to transport and set-up temporary seating and tables. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Collapsible Flatpack Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/edo-side-table.md) - [Upcycled Waste Material Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cardboard-furniture-design.md) - [Laptop-Stowing Portable Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lapcase.md) - [Compact Outdoor Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/portable-1.md) - [Modular Fold-Out Desk Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/foldable-wooden-workstation.md) - [Ultra-Portable Desk Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/portable-desk-design.md) - [Portable Foldable Lap Desks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pi-lap-desk.md) - [Multifunctional Magnetic Folding Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/folding-table.md) - [Take-Out Box Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tablebag.md)
