This enormous cardboard creation may not be sea worthy but it's extremely detailed and impressive. Looking it over, one can't help but think these Reddit fans (Joel, Mikey and Josh) must have been big Pirates of the Caribbean fans. A Treasure Island themed Halloween party and a desire to save money on decorations led to the construction of this epic art project. These thrifty and artistically inclined friends banned together to create this massive party prop. This crafty vessel has a sail, firing slots for hypothetical cardboard canons and even a plank for excommunicated pirates to walk. This grand scale art project proves that [one man's trash](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/basket-sculptures) (in this case, cardboard) can be another man's treasure. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.5/10 - Popularity: 62% | Activity: 34% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Cardboard Creations:** The rise of creative and sustainable cardboard art projects - **DIY Party Props:** Increasing popularity of DIY party props and decorations - **Event Art Installations:** Growing trend of large-scale art installations for events and parties ### Who This Affects Most - **Art Supplies:** Opportunity for art suppliers to offer eco-friendly cardboard materials for creative projects - **Party Planning:** Opportunity for party planning companies to incorporate DIY, sustainable decorations into their offerings - **Event Services:** Opportunity for event companies to offer and specialize in large-scale, unique art installations for events and parties ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Collector Puzzle Pirate Ships](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lego-icons-set.md) - [Floating Escape Rooms](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/floating-escape-room.md) - [Video Game-Inspired Hovercrafts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mario-kart-hovercraft.md) - [Recycled Guitar Prototypes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cardboard-guitar-1.md) - [Upcycled Waste Material Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cardboard-furniture-design.md) - [Anime-Themed Snack Holders](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/going-merry-snack-set.md) - [Player-Built Seafaring Boats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/naval-update.md) - [Cardboard-Inspired Ceramic Household Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cardboard-collection.md) - [DIY Life-Size Tanks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nd-woodworking-art.md)
