# Geometric Furniture-Like Sculptures Caramel by Yasmin Muller are Modernly Geometric By Meghan Young | Published 2014-04-10 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/caramel-by-yasmin-muller References: [mariastenfors](http://www.mariastenfors.com/tag/mueller/) & [cruisecallas](http://cruisecallas.com/) Caramel by Yasmin Muller, an artist living and working Berlin, Germany, is a series of modern sculptures that happen to look like a collection of furniture. Of course, some of the pieces are hardly capable of human interaction such as a bed-less daybed and an even more abstract zig-zagging piece. Even those that do look like furniture are too eye-catching to want to turn one's back to it, let alone sit on it. Currently on display at the Cruise & Callas gallery in Berlin, Caramel by Yasmin Muller is comprised of five black objects made out of metal. "Confronting the viewer with a cold aesthetic and repelling strength," as [Design Milk](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/abc-stone) puts it, they have a 90s vibe about them. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.0/10 - Popularity: 76% | Activity: 37% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Geometric Sculpture Furniture:** Creating furniture-inspired geometric sculptures opens a new market for art enthusiasts looking for functional decor. - **Abstract Industrial Art:** Embracing the industrial look with abstract geometric designs creates opportunities for decor and architectural art solutions. - **Functional Sculpture Art:** Integrating practical aspects into artistic designs opens up avenues to create art-inspired functional objects and furniture. ### Who This Affects Most - **Art and Home Decor:** Innovative sculptures with a practical element can create unique art pieces for home, office or other architectural projects. - **Architectural Design:** The use of industrial and practical art pieces like functional sculptures can be beneficial in creating innovative spaces. - **Metalworking and Manufacturing:** The development of functional art sculptures with geometric designs opens up new opportunities for metalworking, manufacturing, and design-based businesses. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Wavy Sculptural Coffee Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sculptural-coffee-tables.md) - [Oblong Color-Blocked Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/meritalia-morphologica-collection.md) - [Performance Art Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bio-pop.md) - [Bright Artful Cabinet Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bridges-collection.md) - [Modernist Artful Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/colendra.md) - [Domestic Artful Furniture Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sculpted-series.md) - [Movement-Distilling Furniture Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/borris-collection.md) - [Whimsical Sculptural Furniture Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/city-block-series.md) - [Open-Ended Dynamic Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nebil-zaman.md)
