# Nutty Cancer Awareness PSAs Cara Delevingne's Cancer PSA Misses the Mark By Vasiliki Marapas | Published 2014-10-27 | Pop Culture Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cara-delevingne-cancer-psa References: [refinery29](http://www.refinery29.com/2014/10/76824/cara-delevingne-testicular-cancer-psa) & [youtube](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uZErvCAuDKc) Cara Delevingne's [cancer PSA](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/united-breast-cancer-foundations) is not quite "on the ball." The 22-year-old model starts off by suggesting people regularly check their bodies. After all, if you're not in touch with what's going on in your body, no one else will be, Delevingne says solemnly. She then goes on to recommend that women [cup their breasts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/know-your-lemons) once a month, massaging her own chest underneath her tank top for visual emphasis. Though this is, admittedly, good advice, it's not really what the directors were going for when shooting the PSA for the Feeling Nuts Comedy Night, an event promoting [testicular cancer awareness](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/change-the-course). The directors suggest, off-screen, that Delevingne "use her imagination," to talk about testicular cancer. Unfortunately, she drops the ball yet again (pun intended), going on a rant about how vaginas rule the world. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.4/10 - Popularity: 1% | Activity: 2% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 90% men, 10% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Pop Culture](https://www.trendhunter.com/popculture) > [Humor](https://www.trendhunter.com/humor) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Testicular Cancer Awareness:** There is a need to shift the focus on testicular cancer awareness, as it is easily preventable and should be regularly checked by men. - **Holistic Cancer Detection:** A more comprehensive approach to cancer detection may be more effective, beyond just self-exams and check-ups. - **Humor in Cancer Awareness Psas:** Humor is an effective tool to promote cancer awareness but it should still be taken seriously and executed thoughtfully. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Healthcare:** There is an opportunity to improve existing cancer screening and detection methods, and to increase the availability of screenings for all types of cancer. - **Entertainment:** The entertainment industry, particularly comedians and actors, can partner with cancer organizations to create more effective and impactful awareness campaigns. - **Advertising:** Cancer awareness campaigns require careful planning and execution to ensure that their message is delivered in the most effective way. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Creative Cancer Awareness Campaigns](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pick-up-your-poop.md) - [Health Awareness Undergarments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/underaware.md) - [Pancake-Centric Health Campaigns](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pancakes-against-breast-cancer.md) - [Biologically Shaped Musical Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/balls-in-concert.md) - [Cancer-Symptom Detecting Bras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stage-zero.md) - [Edible PSA Cookies](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/diagnosticookies.md) - [Male Health-Awareness NFTs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nonfungibletesticles.md) - [Lung Cancer-Awareness Campaigns](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/marie-keating.md) - [Cancer Awareness CPG Packaging](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/unilever-pink-packaging.md)
