The device was developed by Pasadena's [Eureka Aerospace](http://eurekaaerospace.com). What will those California television stations news channels cover? It fries the car's electrical system. Once the prototype is developed, [high speed chases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/brake-control-system) may be a thing of the past. Hopefully there will be a consumer model to take care of tailgaters. **Implications** - This still developing prototype system can fire from as much as 50 feet away and is capable of completely frying another car's electrical systems such that it can't continue. Once it is fully developed, Pasadena's technology may have a firing distance of up to 600 feet, changing the face of roadside law enforcement forever. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.3/10 - Popularity: 32% | Activity: 59% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Unique](https://www.trendhunter.com/unique) > [Inventions](https://www.trendhunter.com/inventions) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Microwave Car Taser:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in the field of electrical vehicle immobilization technology. - **Remote Law Enforcement:** Potential for disruptive innovation in roadside law enforcement with the development of long-range incapacitation technology. - **Vehicle Security Technology:** Development of this microwave car taser technology may spawn new innovations in vehicle immobilization and theft prevention. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Law Enforcement:** Possible adoption of this technology in roadside law enforcement to effectively immobilize fleeing vehicles. - **Automotive:** Potential opportunity for automobile manufacturers to create innovative and effective vehicle security systems. - **Security Services:** Incorporation of this technology in security services can lead to the creation of highly effective security measures. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Anti-Theft Car Immobilizers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/antitheft1.md) - [Dystopian Electric Vehicles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/upfit-cyberpunk-tactile.md) - [Antitheft Car Key Carriers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/car-key-faraday-shield.md) - [High-Performance Electric Hypercar Prototypes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/electric-hypercar-prototype.md) - [Discreet Portable Tasers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/taser-device.md) - [Electric Superhero Vehicle Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/p64-lancehead.md) - [Antitheft Vehicle Component Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/catalytic-converter-antitheft-device.md) - [One-Click Car Protection Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/car-safety-device.md) - [Branded EV Karaoke Microphones](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tesla-caraokemic.md)
