The luxury car brand BMW has innovated into the future with its color-changing car technology. With the help of E-Ink and IX Flow technology, the electric SUV prototype can change its exterior color with a push of a button.

E-Ink technology comes from e-reader tablets, so the car can only change its colors on a greyscale. According to the German automaker, "the iX has a special wrap that brings different color pigments to the surface via electrical stimulation. The color-changing effect can go from front to back, side to side, stripes, and blotches."

This innovation will bring car-passionate consumers into a new realm of customization and efficiency. Consumers will have the option of changing their car design based on mood, weather, or driving scenario.
