# Shock-Shielding Plugs The Cappit Cover Protects Your Fingertips from Electrified Prongs By Amelia Roblin | Published 2013-10-08 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cappit-cover References: [quirky](http://www.quirky.com/projects/4062-Cappit-Price-Project) For those [wall sockets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shelly-plug-gen4) that require a little bit of extra muscle and dexterity to plug in an appliance, you'll want to use the Cappit Cover. This is a really simple silicone attachment that helps protect your hands in a big way. When you're inserting or removing a device's cord from an outlet, there's a small window of risk when you might touch the two- or three-pin end while it's electrified. This Quirky product fills this gap with a [flexible buffer](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/plugable-data-blocking-cable) that acts as a shield. Simply slide the gadget's prongs through the [socket-shaped plastic component](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/22-system) with the concave side facing out; next, push the wire with its Cappit Cover into the wall and you will not accidentally come in contact with the pins. The block will bend easily to allow the full insertion of the plug. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.8/10 - Popularity: 49% | Activity: 27% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Gen Alpha - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Electrical Safety Accessories:** Opportunity for innovative products that provide protection and convenience when working with electrical outlets. - **Silicone Innovations:** Potential for new and creative applications of silicone materials to enhance everyday gadgets and tools. - **Human-centered Design:** Growing demand for products that prioritize user safety and comfort, leading to opportunities for products like the Cappit Cover. ### Where This Applies - **Electronics:** Incorporating safety features into electrical devices and accessories to enhance user experience and prevent accidents. - **Home Improvement:** Developing innovative solutions and gadgets that make home maintenance and repairs safer and more convenient. - **Consumer Goods:** Creating user-friendly and protective accessories for everyday products, catering to the growing demand for safety and convenience. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Stylish Power Cord Removers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/plug-puller.md) - [Accessible Power Cord Attachments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ipull.md) - [Anti-Scald Protective Covers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/protective-covers.md) - [Power Station Outlet Adapters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/anker-powerextend-usbc-plug.md) - [Surge Protector Outlet Extendors](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-plug-outlet-extender.md) - [Flexible Charging Adapters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flexible-charge-adapter.md) - [Easy-to-Install Outlet Covers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/switch-plate-set.md) - [Rotating Outlet Power Bars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/oconnect-onestep.md) - [Pencil-Resembling Power Strips](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pencil-multitap.md)
