The Portuguese artist collective Caoceito and Burdman create an ode to album covers in their new video entitled 'I Need Nothing - A Nearly Useless Odyssey.' From a young age, many people are told not to judge books by their covers, but this additional sensory experience that used to accompany albums and novels can add to the overall enjoyment of these physical forms of media. Album art has impacted our culture, many famous covers have become cultural icons; from the black and white With [The Beatles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/candlelight) cover to [Nirvana's](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gap-1) Nevermind.

With the advent of ebooks and MP3s, a general shift from physical media has occurred. Caoceito and Burdman beg the question, what we have given up in exchange for more shelf space? Beautiful liner notes, spectacular album covers that induce goosebumps, the smell and feel of flicking through stacks of vinyl: these were all apart of an audiophile's ritual that have been abandoned in recent years. Caoceito and Burdman and a slew of artists recreate [iconic album art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/create-cover-art) in order to give us pause to consider where technology has taken us.

Mesmerizing and an undeniable titan of craftsmanship, I Need Nothing - A Nearly Useless Odyssey is the ultimate celebration of a fading art form that deserves recognition as well as preservation.
