Although traditional flash features do their intended job, they can often result in unevenly lit subjects. Canon came up with a solution by bringing flash in to the front line. With Canon's new EF-M 28mm f/3.5 Macro IS STM lens, photographers are able to take high quality images that feature balanced light. The Canon Ring Flash Macro Lens is compatible with the brand's [EOS M](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/eos-r100) camera. The highlight of this new lens is its two curved flash units, creating a built-in ring flash that can be adjusted depending on a user's preference. It could be dimmed or brightened and even helps photographers capture their subject from a shorter focal length without casting a shadow. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.1/10 - Popularity: 5% | Activity: 19% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Photography](https://www.trendhunter.com/photography) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Customizable Ring Flash:** The trend of customizable ring flash lenses allows photographers to adjust the lighting according to their preference, resulting in evenly lit photographs. - **High Quality Macro Photography:** The trend of high-quality macro photography lenses enables photographers to capture detailed and clear images, improving the overall photo clarity. - **Shadowless Macro Photography:** The trend of shadowless macro photography lenses eliminates the issue of casting shadows when capturing subjects from a shorter focal length. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Photography Equipment:** The photography equipment industry can capitalize on the trend of customizable ring flash lenses by developing innovative products that allow photographers to easily adjust lighting settings. - **Camera Manufacturing:** The camera manufacturing industry has opportunities to innovate and produce high-quality macro photography lenses that cater to the growing demand for detailed and clear images. - **Optical Technology:** The optical technology industry can tap into the trend of shadowless macro photography lenses by developing advanced lens designs that minimize the casting of shadows. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Macro Smartphone Lenses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moment-1.md) - [Pro-Grade Macro Smartphone Lenses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/moment-75mm-macro-lens.md) - [Spec-Driven Film Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lomography-lomo-mca.md) - [Photographer-Grade Smartphone Lenses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shiftcam-lensultra-explorer-series.md) - [Mirrorless Image-Stabilization Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/imagestabilization-camera.md) - [Multi-Coated Glass Lens Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lomo-instant-wide-glass.md) - [Pro-Grade Smartphone Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/switchlens.md) - [Detachable Mobile Camera Lenses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mobile-camera-lens.md) - [Affordable Spatial Camera Lenses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rfs78mm-f4-stm-dual.md)
