The chair is characterized by its [low-slung construction](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/himalaya-pelvis-chair) and is named after the Portuguese word for canoe to further create the correlation with watercraft. The seat has a [slight rocking chair form](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/oval-rocking-chair) that will mimic the experience of sitting on the sea or a smaller body of water to offer a truly relaxing experience. The 'Canoa' chair is upholstered in WENTZ's WE-KNIT mesh material, which is crafted out of 100% recycled PET bottles. This further drives home the oceanic nature of the furniture piece. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.4/10 - Popularity: 71% | Activity: 49% | Freshness: 12% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/furniture) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Oceanic-inspired Furniture:** Designing chairs and furniture that mimic the soothing nature of waves can disrupt the furniture industry by catering to people's need for relaxation and tranquility. - **Recycled Material Upholstery:** Using eco-friendly materials like WENTZ's WE-KNIT mesh material, crafted out of 100% recycled PET bottles can disrupt the furniture industry through sustainable manufacturing practices. - **Rocking Chair Revolution:** Incorporating the subtle motion of rocking chairs in various furniture designs can disrupt the seating industry by promoting relaxation and wellness in daily activities. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Furniture:** Designing unique and graceful furniture designs like 'Canoa' chair can disrupt the furniture industry and provide a new level of personal comfort and aesthetic appeal. - **Sustainable Manufacturing:** Manufacturing furniture using recycled and eco-friendly materials like WENTZ's WE-KNIT mesh material can disrupt the furniture industry by reducing waste and promoting environmentally sustainable practices. - **Wellness:** Creating furniture designed to promote wellness, relaxation, and mindfulness in daily activities can disrupt the healthcare industry by offering an alternative to costly treatments and therapies. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Wavy Lounge Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wavy-lounge-chair.md) - [Zen-Focused Furniture Pieces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/goyo-chair.md) - [Comforting Designer Chair Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/calma-lounge-by-layer.md) - [Modernized Rocking Chair Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nodding-chair.md) - [Cushioned Relaxing Lounge Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/calma-lounge.md) - [Organic Form Seating](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/undia.md) - [Fabric-Wrapped Rocking Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zhe-rocking-chair.md) - [Ergonomic Relaxation Lounge Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zephyr-lounger.md) - [Natural Sound-Amplifying Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/amplification-of-the-senses-chair.md)
