# Candy-Bowl Shaped Sofa Matteo Thun's Tantisassi By lourdes sanchez bayas | Published 2008-05-11 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/candy-bowl-shaped-sofa-matteo-thuns-tantisassi References: [ballerhouse](http://www.ballerhouse.com/2008/04/09/tantisassi-candy-looking-sofa/) Matteo Thun designed this sofa called the Tantisassi. Ballerhouse notes that the sofa looks like a [bowl of M & M's](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/candy-table). To me the Tantisassi looks more like a bowl of flattened up eggs. The strategically placed cushions of the sofa are made of [multi-colored or solid white polyurethane-foam](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nebulone-sofa) which come in removable elasticized covers and the frame is made of steel and it stands on chromed feet tipped with nylon. This [candy-bowl sofa](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/luis-gimeno) is a strange-looking piece of furniture. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.6/10 - Popularity: 22% | Activity: 47% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Colorful Furniture Designs:** Disruptive innovation opportunity for furniture manufacturers to create unique and eye-catching designs using bright colors. - **Modular and Removable Furniture:** Innovative opportunity for furniture designers to create modular and removable furniture that allows for customization and versatility in home decor. - **Eco-friendly Furniture Materials:** Disruptive innovation opportunity for furniture manufacturers to use sustainable and eco-friendly materials, such as recycled fabrics and repurposed plastics, in their designs. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Furniture Manufacturing:** Innovative opportunities for furniture manufacturers to create unique and eye-catching designs that allow for customization and versatility in home decor. - **Interior Design:** Disruptive innovation opportunities for interior designers to incorporate colorful, modular, and eco-friendly furniture designs into their projects. - **Sustainable Materials Manufacturing:** Opportunities for manufacturers of sustainable materials to partner with furniture manufacturers to provide innovative and eco-friendly materials for furniture designs. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Oblong Color-Blocked Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/meritalia-morphologica-collection.md) - [Voluptuous Texture Sofa Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bretz-balaao.md) - [Bauhaus-Themed Contrasting Sofas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cocoon-sofa.md) - [Laidback Modular Sofa Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/natuzzi-bao.md) - [Modular Minimalist Sofa Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zonatta-bumper-sofa.md) - [Precariously Suspended Sofas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/suspended-sofa.md) - [Mountainous Magnetic Wall-Mounted Sofas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mousarris-summit-modular-sofa.md) - [Compact Pillowy Furniture Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sander-series.md) - [Modular Seating Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/candy-modular-seating.md)
