# Balancing Candle Scales The 'Rising Balance' Candlebra Transitions Up as the Candles Melt By Erica Francis | Published 2016-07-27 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/candlebra References: [bindesign.nl](http://www.bindesign.nl/) Amsterdam-based studio BinDesign's 'Rising Balance' candelabra is a dynamic and interesting way to display candles. The unconventional design is based on scales: on one end is the [tea light candle](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/candl-stacks) and on the other end is a basalt stone. As the candle burns away and becomes lighter, the Rising Balance candle holder begins to shift, similar to a see-saw, as the candle begins to rise while the stone descends. According to the BinDesign, the concept for the candelabra was inspired by the elements: the brass and stone candle holder displays the equilibrium between earth and fire. It would definitely be an interesting addition to home and offices spaces. The unique function and [minimalist aesthetic](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ratio-series) of the Rising Balance affirms that simplistic yet abstract styles still dominate in the interior design industry. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.2/10 - Popularity: 8% | Activity: 50% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Home](https://www.trendhunter.com/home) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Dynamic Candle Displays:** Opportunity for innovative candle holders that incorporate movement and transformation as the candles burn. - **Equilibrium Home Decor:** Potential for creating decorative accessories that symbolize balance and harmony between different elements. - **Minimalist Interior Design:** Demand for simplistic yet abstract styles that offer a clean and modern aesthetic for homes and offices. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Home Decor:** Chances for designers and manufacturers to create unique and functional home decor items that add an element of surprise and intrigue. - **Candle Manufacturing:** Potential for candle makers to explore new designs and materials that enhance the visual experience as the candles burn. - **Interior Design:** Opportunity for interior designers and decorators to incorporate innovative and captivating decor pieces that add a touch of elegance to any space. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Warm Ambient Candle Holders](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/reflet.md) - [Stone Cube Candle Holders](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/qub-candlestick.md) - [Architectural Candle Holders](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/core-candle-holder.md) - [Interestingly Shaped Candle Holders](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/poise-candle-holder.md) - [Vertical Tea-Light Holders](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tolo-tea-candle.md) - [Luxe Candle-Melting Lamp](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/infra-luna-20.md) - [Ritual Sculptural Candle Holders](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/alma-mater.md) - [Stacked Candle Objects](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/candl-stacks.md) - [Unusual Limited-Edition Candles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-bloom-candle.md)
