Imagined as a product for the [Google](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/google-omni-smart-speaker) portfolio, the speaker's cone-shaped design hides the internal components and offers users a decidedly more flamboyant way to enjoy their favorite audio or perform digital tasks using Google Assistant. The accompanying tubular base features four LEDs to indicate the volume level on one side, while the other has buttons for control. The conceptual 'Canary' smart speaker is inspired by the very bird it shares a name with and acts as something of a 'canary in the coal mine' for things like news, weather events and more thanks to its connected design. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.7/10 - Popularity: 89% | Activity: 72% | Freshness: 11% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Megaphone-like Smart Speakers:** Designing smart speakers with megaphone-like structures allow for a more flamboyant yet practical way of using voice assistants. - **Cone-shaped Speaker Design:** Cone-shaped speaker designs that hide internal components are a unique way to differentiate smart speakers and create a chic atmosphere. - **LED Indicators on Smart Speakers:** Adding LED indicators that reflect speaker volume on smart speakers can create a unique and interactive experience for users. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Smart Home Technology:** Integrating megaphone-like smart speakers can improve voice assistant technology and further expand the realm of smart home systems. - **Interior Design:** Cone-shaped speaker design provides an opportunity to create speaker systems that fit and compliment a variety of room aesthetics. - **Consumer Electronics:** The use of LED indicators can revolutionize the design and functionality of consumer electronics such as smart speakers and other audio output devices. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Birdcage-Inspired Smart Speakers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bird-intelligent-sound-box.md) - [Acousto-Optic Smart Speakers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-wireless-speaker-design.md) - [Auxiliary Display Smart Speakers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/google-omni-smart-speaker.md) - [Shell-Inspired Speaker Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shell-intelligent.md) - [AR Headset-Holding Desktop Speakers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/compact-smart-speaker.md) - [AI-Powered Speaker Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/turningai-speaker.md) - [Adaptable Smart Speaker Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/divid-smart-speaker-concept.md) - [Drop-Shaped Smart Speakers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pantheone-audio-obsidian.md) - [Anti-Distraction Speaker Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cravt-speaker.md)
