# Balanced Camping Equipment The Camping Cup Stays Stable on Virtually Any Surface By Michael Hemsworth | Published 2016-06-17 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/camping-cup References: [yankodesign](http://www.yankodesign.com/2016/06/17/upright-cupright/) Camping enthusiasts who have balanced their beverage precariously on an uneven surface and had it spill will appreciate the design of the Camping Cup. Designed by Wang Jiaxin, the cup features a sack portion on the bottom that's filled with ball bearings. When placed on a surface, the ball bearings within will take on the shape of the surface and instantly add balance to ensure the cup won't tip over or slide away. The Camping Cup makes it easy to [stack and pack](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aecooly) to ensure that while it is immensely functional that it won't disturb current practices when hitting the great outdoors. The cup was given an honorable mention at the prestigious Red Dot Design Awards, so the design is sure to be a hit if it ever makes it to market. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.4/10 - Popularity: 26% | Activity: 9% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Balanced Camping Equipment:** The innovative design of the Camping Cup with ball bearings offers disruptive opportunities for creating other balanced camping equipment. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Outdoor Equipment:** The Camping Cup design highlights the need for more innovative and functional outdoor equipment products. - **Design and Manufacturing:** The success and recognition of the Camping Cup design at the Red Dot Design Awards opens up disruptive opportunities for design and manufacturing industries. - **Hospitality and Tourism:** The Camping Cup's stability enhancement could create disruptive innovation opportunities for the hospitality and tourism industry, offering improved camping experiences. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Shifting Hydration Cup Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tilting-water-cup.md) - [Zero-Gravity Space Cups](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zero-gravity-coffee-cup.md) - [Effortless Tea Brewing Cups](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cuptone-teacup.md) - [Nesting Gem-Like Drinking Glasses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/upsidedownside-glasses.md) - [Cup-Integrated Plates](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pairingware.md) - [Multifunctional Camping Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ruck-river-camping-table.md) - [Collapsible Folding Carrier Cups](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/origami-cup.md) - [Can Clip Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/can-clip.md) - [Dual-Purpose Camping Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chair-a.md)
