In addition to modern bathrooms featuring automatic soap dispensers, self-flushing toilets and [sensory faucets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chicago-faucet-company), the [toilet paper roll dispenser](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/forevr-roll) is the newest item to get an electronic update. Developed by design company Shikoku, this device allows for a potentially germ-free bathroom experience. The device is activated by detecting hand movement to dispense the tissue. Camitool has even created different settings in which one can adjust the length of the dispensed toilet tissue. It is available in three lengths: 30, 90 and 120 cm. The device has been introduced into a few hospitals where absolute cleanliness is vital to the environment. The notion of a public bathroom seems a lot less unpleasant when standards of immaculately germ-free environments are being established by automated devices. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.1/10 - Popularity: 13% | Activity: 41% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) > [Health](https://www.trendhunter.com/health) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Hands-free Technology:** Opportunity for developing more hands-free technology in various industries for improved hygiene and convenience. - **Smart Bathroom Solutions:** Potential for creating innovative smart bathroom solutions that enhance cleanliness and user experience. - **Automation in Hygiene:** Disruptive innovation opportunity in automating hygiene processes in different sectors for increased efficiency and reduced germ transmission. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Healthcare:** The healthcare industry can adopt tech-infused tissue dispensers to maintain sanitary conditions and minimize contamination risks. - **Hospitality:** Hotels and resorts can benefit from implementing hands-free and smart bathroom solutions to elevate guest experience and prioritize hygiene. - **Public Facilities:** Public facilities such as airports, shopping malls, and restaurants can explore automation in hygiene to create safer and more pleasant environments for visitors. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Automated At-Home Soap Dispensers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/liquid-soap-pump.md) - [Feature-Packed Smart Toilets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/neolet.md) - [Smart Toilet Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-toilets.md) - [Smart-Designed Handwash Dispensers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smart-designed-handwash-dispenser.md) - [Sustainable Paper Towel Holders](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/paper-towel-holder-1.md) - [AI-Powered Sanitizer Dispensers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/igiene-hand-sanitizer-dispenser.md) - [Automated Maintenance Toilet Seats](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/icleaningo-bidet-toilet-seat-dc02.md) - [Futuristic Intelligent Toilets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/intelligent-toilet.md) - [Touch-Free Soap Dispensers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/touchfree-soap-dispenser.md)
