# Camera-Like Canvases Iman Maleki Paints With Camera-Like Reality By Ryan Hinkson | Published 2010-01-14 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/camera-like-canvases References: [thundafunda](http://thundafunda.com/amazing/portrait-paintings-gallery/) & [imanmaleki](http://www.imanmaleki.com/) Ever see a painting that is so life like you swear it is from [a camera](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/profiles-in-color) rather than from off of a canvas? This is the feeling I get when I look at Iman Maleki’s work. The subjects in these paintings are so full of life, pain, joy, wonder, just about any and all of the emotions generally reserved for the camera. Not only does Iman Maleki have a knack for [painting life like people](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ai-powered-portrait-studio), but some of his background will fool you as well. Take a look at the brick wall in the last image then take a glance outside of your window and tell me if you can tell the difference. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.7/10 - Popularity: 22% | Activity: 20% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Modern](https://www.trendhunter.com/modern) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Camera-like Realism:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation in the realistic portrayal of subjects in various media. - **Mimicking Real World:** Opportunity for developing technology that mimics the real world with high accuracy. - **Blurring the Lines:** Opportunity for blurring the lines between reality and art. ### Where This Applies - **Fine Arts:** Opportunity for developing tools and techniques to create highly realistic art. - **Photography:** Opportunity for creating camera technology with higher accuracy and realism. - **Virtual and Augmented Reality:** Opportunities for creating more immersive and indistinguishable virtual and augmented reality experiences. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Life-Like 3D Canvases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lumino.md) - [Oil Painting-Inspired Rugs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/antonio-santn.md) - [Paper-Made Mosaic Artwork](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/real-life-architecture-exhibition.md) - [Photo Art Tools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/image-painter.md) - [AI-Generated Real-World Transformations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ai-generated-world.md) - [AI-Generated Poetic Photo Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/emilio-alarcn.md) - [Travel-Inspired Canvas Paintings](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-passport-series.md) - [Voice-Activated Wall Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fraimic.md) - [Raw Sports Emotion Artwork](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/game-exhibition.md)
