It records sounds and transfers images via [3D embossing technology](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mastercards-touch-card) so that people who can't see will still have a recording of the sounds of the event and be able to use their sense of touch to "see" the image. This was one of the winning designs for the 2008 International Design Excellence Awards (IDEA). The IDEA® program is the premier international competition honoring design excellence in products, ecodesign, interaction design, packaging, strategy, research and concepts. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.0/10 - Popularity: 61% | Activity: 81% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Photography](https://www.trendhunter.com/photography) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Accessible Technology:** Creating innovative products that improve accessibility for individuals with disabilities. - **Assistive Devices:** Designing devices that enhance the quality of life for people with disabilities. - **Multi-sensory Experiences:** Developing technologies that combine different sensory inputs to create inclusive experiences. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Technology:** Opportunity to develop and market accessible technologies for individuals with disabilities. - **Healthcare:** Potential for integrating assistive devices into healthcare settings to improve patient outcomes. - **Design:** Incorporating multi-sensory elements into product design to enhance user experience for all. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Visual Impairment Camera Kits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sony-dschx99-rnv.md) - [Accessible Home Device Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/accessble-home-device.md) - [Tactile Accessible Mobile Technologies](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/accessible-mobile-technology.md) - [Impairment-Accessible Tablets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dot-pad.md) - [Visual Impairment Support Headsets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vision-bone-conduction-headset.md) - [Visually Impaired Payment Devices](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shimmer.md) - [Setting-Describing Wearable Cameras](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/seekr.md) - [Electronic 3D Book Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bbook.md) - [Visual Eyewear Visor Concepts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vision-aid-smart-visor.md)
