# Camel-Drawn Medical Carriages This Camel Ambulance is More Effective in the Desert By Vivian Lau | Published 2012-05-25 | Autos Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/camel-ambulance References: [incrediblethings](http://www.incrediblethings.com/travel/quick-someone-call-the-cambulance/) & [neatorama](http://www.neatorama.com/2012/05/20/design-concept-a-modern-camel-drawn-ambulance/) Frederic Schwab, a design student, has conceptualized a camel ambulance -- a means of transportation that is effective in the desert. If you lived out in the sand dunes, you know that any car or ambulance would have a hard time getting out to help you in case of emergency. Helicopters are expensive, so they may not come every time, which is why there is a need for an [animal-powered transportation device](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sofia-mobility). Camels are made for the desert and are used to carrying heavy loads so toting a cart along to seat a [doctor or patient](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zoobree-nebulizer) should be no problem. Be it practical or not, this Star Wars-esque design makes sense. If anything, imagine how cool it would be to pull up to the hospital via camel! ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.3/10 - Popularity: 9% | Activity: 21% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Asia, Africa ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Autos](https://www.trendhunter.com/autos) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Desert Emergency Transport:** The concept of camel-drawn medical carriages shows a trend towards more effective emergency transport in desert regions. - **Animal-powered Emergency Response:** The camel ambulance concept represents a trend towards using animals for emergency response and transportation in remote areas. - **Innovative Medical Transport:** The design of the camel ambulance showcases a trend towards innovative and unconventional modes of medical transportation. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Emergency Medical Services:** The camel ambulance concept presents a potential innovation opportunity for emergency medical services in desert regions. - **Animal Husbandry:** The trend towards animal-powered emergency response creates opportunities for the animal husbandry industry to develop specialized training and care for emergency response animals. - **Transportation:** The innovative concept of camel-drawn medical carriages presents potential opportunities for the transportation industry to develop specialized vehicles for remote and rugged terrain. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Off-Road Frontline Medic Trailers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/life-chariot.md) - [Modular Emergency Vehicles Proposals](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modular-emergency-vehicles.md) - [Local Low-Speed Electric Ambulances](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gem-ambulance.md) - [Inflatable Rescue Stretchers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/inflatable-rescue-stretcher.md) - [Rugged Off-Road Concept Vehicles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jeep-dune.md) - [Semi-Amphibious Bus Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/estuary-hopper.md) - [Bird-Inspired Mobility Crutches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/carbo-crutch.md) - [First Responder Scooter Models](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/medical-kickscooter.md) - [Digital Nomad Concept Cars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/multipurpose-car.md)
