The chair is constructed with clean, smooth lines and a minimalist shell profile that will hug the sitter to provide relaxing benefits but also help with stress relief. This is thanks to the physical comfort it will provide that translates to mental relaxation, while the style-conscious profile of the chair will have it appear perfectly at home in any living space. Designer Benjamin Hubert spoke on the Calma Lounge by LAYER for Andreu World saying, "People are increasingly searching for comfort – both mental and physical – and this desire is what drives the design of the Calma Lounge we designed for Andreu World. With its softly cushioned interior that wraps around the sitter, the lounge is a place to retreat to. It offers a deeply reassuring space – and in today’s world, that is a luxury." ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.8/10 - Popularity: 71% | Activity: 10% | Freshness: 32% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/furniture) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Mindful Furniture:** The fusion of physical comfort and mental relaxation in furniture design is leading to pieces that prioritize psychological well-being. - **Minimalist Comfort:** Designs with clean lines and minimalist profiles are merging with high comfort levels to create stylish yet relaxing furniture. - **Stress-relieving Furniture:** Furniture that helps reduce mental stress through enveloping and comforting designs is becoming increasingly popular. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Interior Design:** Integrating stress-relieving and mentally relaxing furniture transforms living spaces into havens of peace. - **Wellness:** The wellness industry is embracing furniture that contributes to mental relaxation alongside physical comfort. - **Luxury Goods:** High-end furniture that provides both aesthetic appeal and mental comfort is carving out a niche in the luxury market. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Cushioned Relaxing Lounge Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/calma-lounge.md) - [Ultra-Comfy Seating Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cushy-lounge-chair.md) - [Enveloping Nested Layer Armchairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-hug-armchair.md) - [Cozy Contemporary Seating Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/knoll-perron-bun.md) - [Zen-Focused Furniture Pieces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/goyo-chair.md) - [Posture-Maintaining Lounge Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/havana-lounge.md) - [Cocoon Lounge Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-introvert-chair.md) - [Wellbeing-Harnessing Fan-Like Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shanti-chair.md) - [Soothing Boat-Like Lounge Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/canoa-chair.md)
