Inspired by Katy Perry, Buttercream Bakery of England set out to make a set of macaroons that are delectable in taste yet resemble the iconic [cupcake bra](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/candy-bar-inspired-cupcake) that Katy Perry dons in her music video for California Gurls. The Buttercream Bakery just took a simple [lemon macaroon recipe](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chocolate-dipped-macarons) and tinted the cookie in a pastel blue-green. Topped with a strawberry-infused pink frosting and a cherry on top, the California Gurls Cupcake Macaroons are complete. These delectable confectionary treats are the perfect treat for a summer day. The flavors are unique and definitely will stand out at the dessert table. The piled-on frosting and meringue filling is purely mouthwatering. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.5/10 - Popularity: 58% | Activity: 40% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) > [Food](https://www.trendhunter.com/food) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Popstar-inspired Confectionary Treats:** Creating confectionary treats inspired by popular culture figures can be a disruptive innovation opportunity for bakeries to attract a different target audience. - **Iconic Clothing-inspired Treats:** Developing bakery products that resemble iconic clothing items can be a disruptive innovation opportunity to create a unique product line. - **Fruit-infused Desserts:** Incorporating fruity flavors to traditional desserts can be a trend to capitalize on as people look for healthier options. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Bakery and Pastry Industry:** Incorporating pop culture into the bakery industry can be a way to attract a younger demographic and increase sales. - **Fashion and Merchandise Industry:** Creating foods inspired by clothing items can be appealing to fashion enthusiasts and can create cross-industry collaborations. - **Heath and Wellness Industry:** Infusing fruits into desserts can be a way to bring healthier options to the dessert industry and appeal to health-conscious consumers. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Lemonade-Inspired Dessert Collabs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/simply-lemonadeinspired-cupcakes.md) - [Treat-Inspired Accessories](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/jenny-lemons-x-magnolia-bakery.md) - [Macaron-Made Dessert Pops](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sugar-cookie-mac-pops.md) - [Dubai-Style Macaron Cake Pops](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dubaistyle-chocolate-mac-pops.md) - [Playful Space-Themed Desserts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spacethemed-dessert.md) - [Collaboration Cupcake Desserts](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chocolate-salted-pretzel-buttercream-cupcake.md) - [Sweet Pina Colada Cupcakes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/caribbean-colada.md) - [Celebrity-Inspired Cartoon Heels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/katy-perry-1.md) - [Cupcake-Scented Eye Patches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/patchology-x-sprinkles.md)
