Together the companies have produced at-home decor featuring images drawn from [NASA](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/beyond-the-light) space photography, bringing the outer expanses of the universe into kitchens, bedrooms and living rooms. Titled Inverted Spaces, the swaths of pink, blue and purple allow viewers to take in unusual patterns and shapes that are true to size. The sheets are now exclusively available through Rossana Orlandi and [Calico Wallpaper](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shells-shimmer-seafoam), making the compilation all the more in-demand. During the Salone del Mobile 2015 event, the wallpaper lined the [Spazio](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/room-as-instrument) Rossana Orlandi display. This allowed shoppers to get a better understanding of how the look comes across in practice, which, according to the pictures, is arguably flawless. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.8/10 - Popularity: 60% | Activity: 17% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Home](https://www.trendhunter.com/home) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Space-inspired Decor:** Opportunity for companies to incorporate NASA space photography into their home decor designs. - **Unconventional Patterns:** Emerging trend of using unusual patterns and shapes in interior decor, inspired by the Inverted Spaces wallpaper. - **Exclusivity in Home Decor:** Growing demand for limited edition and exclusive home decor products, like the Calico x BCXSY wallpaper. ### Where This Applies - **Interior Design:** Innovative wallpaper designs, such as the space-inspired murals, can disrupt the interior design industry. - **Home Decor:** Opportunity for companies to create unique and exclusive home decor items, like the Calico x BCXSY wallpaper. - **Photography:** Collaborations between photography and home decor can create new opportunities for both industries, as seen with the NASA-inspired wallpaper. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Coastal-Inspired Wallpapers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shells-shimmer-seafoam.md) - [Graphic Wallpaper Capsules](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/immersive-surfaces.md) - [Artist-Approved Intricate Wallpaper Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/printed-decors.md) - [Digital-Themed Glitchy Visual Wallpapers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/glitch-wallpaper.md) - [Painting-Inspired Wallpaper Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/portals-collection.md) - [Juxtaposing Artful Collaborative Capsules](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sea-galaxy.md) - [Folk Art-Inspired Wallpapers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/backdrop.md) - [Space-Themed Home Decor Collection](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aftonsparv.md) - [Renter-Friendly Wallpaper Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/renter-friendly-wallpaper.md)
