Mom always told us not to play with our food, but photographer Geoff Levy has disregarded that advice for his latest series '[Cake Angry](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/smash-cake).'

Not wanting leftover cake from a photoshoot to go to waste, Levy turned it into an art project. As the project's title suggests, Levy got a little angry, using the cake as an artistic outlet for his inner rage by throwing it off rooftops, booting it across the river and even taking a bat to it.

The series is intended as a critique on the large amounts of [food wasted](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/daon-pottery) in the city. Levy releases the frustration and helplessness he feels within this wasteful environment in "cathartic moments of punching, punting, baseball hitting [...] resulting in beautiful lumps of [colorful sprinkles, fondant and pastry](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/funfetti-celebrations-cake-mix) on New York City backdrops."
