# Metallic Pendant Partitions The Caino Design MePas Dividers Dangle Elegantly to Define Space By Amelia Roblin | Published 2011-12-04 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/caino-design-mepas References: [trendir](http://www.trendir.com/archives/005960.html) & [cainodesign](http://www.cainodesign.com/#) The most common type of [room divider](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arches-screen) is the sort that rests firmly erect on the floor -- a variety that is unlike the Caino Design MePas partitions in so many ways. All freestanding space separators tend to have substantial weight to them, allowing them to remain self-supporting and sturdy of frame and footing. Unfortunately, such a look tends to clutter open-plan rooms and even use up the precious inches of a small apartment's area. But the exquisitely thin MePas metal panels maintain an ethereal lightness that decorates and delights even the most space-starved of rooms. The delicate curtain-like screens appear to have been made of intricately patterned [cut paper](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fragmenti), when in fact they are of fine stainless steel sheets. Caino Design MePas dividers are available in elaborately ornamented models which mimic [doilies, textiles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/artisanal-textile-divider) and more modern motifs. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.9/10 - Popularity: 30% | Activity: 50% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Lightweight Room Dividers:** Opportunity to disrupt the traditional heavy and space-consuming room divider market with lightweight and decorative options. - **Intricately Designed Metal Screens:** Innovation potential to create durable and intricate metal screens that look like cut paper. - **Modular Space Separators:** Potential to disrupt the market for permanent room dividers with modular options that can be easily moved and rearranged. ### Where This Applies - **Interior Design:** Opportunity to create a new line of decorative space dividers that complement modern interior design trends. - **Architecture:** Potential to integrate lightweight and versatile modular space separators into building design for flexible use of interior spaces. - **Art and Metalworking:** Innovation potential to combine artistic designs with metalworking to create intricate and visually appealing metal room dividers. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Pleated Textile Dividers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/plissade.md) - [Material-Centric Room Divider Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ren-series.md) - [Sculptural Room Screens](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/morgen-screen.md) - [Hemp Room Dividers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/breeze-divider.md) - [Rotating Panel Room Dividers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/ro-room-dividers.md) - [Flexible Room Partition Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/room-partition-system.md) - [Elegant Cane Partitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/midcentury-partition.md) - [Felt-Made Retractable Room Dividers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pixels-1.md) - [Dual-Weave Dividers](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bilid.md)
