The [pyrotechnic painting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/light-into-darkness) is part of the New York-based Chinese artist Cai Guo-Qiang exhibit 'Sky Ladder' at the MOCA in Los Angeles. Cai created this visually compelling mural in order to mark the show's opening. The Mystery Circle is a continuation of the extraterrestrial theme explored in the artist's work. The [onsite explosion](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rusto) was composed of 40,000 firework rockets, 100 spinning pyrotechnic UFOs and mini Titanium Salute rockets. All this combustion represents crop circles, UFOs and alien figures. The MOCA building wall will then be imprinted by these explosions leaving the exhibit with an [outdoor painting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/craig-karl2) for those who were unable to attend the compelling event. The Sky Ladder exhibit will be shown at the MOCA until July 30th. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 0.6/10 - Popularity: 4% | Activity: 5% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, South America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Live Arts](https://www.trendhunter.com/livearts) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Pyrotechnic Art:** There is an opportunity for artists and event organizers to explore the use of pyrotechnics as a medium for creating visually captivating art installations. - **Experiential Exhibitions:** Creating immersive exhibitions that incorporate interactive elements, like pyrotechnic displays, can enhance the overall visitor experience and generate deeper engagement. - **Extraterrestrial Themes:** Exploring extraterrestrial themes in art can capture the fascination and curiosity of audiences, presenting unique storytelling opportunities. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Art and Entertainment:** Artists and entertainment industry professionals can leverage pyrotechnics to create visually stunning experiences and captivate audiences in new and exciting ways. - **Event Planning and Production:** Event planners and production companies have an opportunity to incorporate pyrotechnics into their events, creating memorable and immersive experiences for attendees. - **Museum and Gallery:** Museums and galleries can experiment with incorporating pyrotechnic art installations into their exhibits, offering visitors a unique and engaging viewing experience. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Drone-Assisted Landscape Artwork](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/katsu-1.md) - [Wonderous Art Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/your-psychoacoustic-light-ensemble.md) - [Eclipse-Themed Rooftop Artworks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arc-zero.md) - [Color-Blending Kinetic Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/felipe-pantone.md) - [Circular Light Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shen-sculpture.md) - [Enigmatic Graffiti Incidents](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/enigmatic-graffiti.md) - [Glass Beaded Intricate Artworks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/painting-exhibition.md) - [Lightning-Inspired Artful Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bright-light-shining.md) - [Collaborative Monochromatic Art Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/collaborative-monochromatic-art-exhibition.md)
