After adopting his son's pregnant cat and a series of unfortunate events, Craig's life completely changed. Initially he bought a 30 acre tree farm where he erected an office trailer as a [cat shelter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-pawswing-neo). Currently the shelter has 660 cats and Craig works hard to feed the cats and keep them safe. The cats of Caboodle Ranch are [not for adoption](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/date-cats-not-humans), but you can support Craig by way of donation. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.0/10 - Popularity: 75% | Activity: 98% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Lifestyle](https://www.trendhunter.com/lifestyle) > [Pets](https://www.trendhunter.com/pets) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Cat Sanctuaries:** Creating sanctuaries for abandoned cats can disrupt traditional animal shelters and provide a safe haven for these felines. - **Alternative Animal Adoption Models:** Exploring alternative models for adopting cats, such as supporting cat colonies like Caboodle Ranch, can disrupt traditional adoption processes. - **Community-driven Animal Care:** Developing community-driven initiatives to care for abandoned animals, like the collaboration in Caboodle Ranch, can disrupt traditional animal welfare systems. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Animal Shelters:** Animal shelters can find disruptive innovation opportunities by adopting the concept of cat sanctuaries like Caboodle Ranch and providing similar environments for abandoned cats. - **Pet Adoption:** The pet adoption industry can explore disruptive innovation opportunities by incorporating alternative models for adopting cats, such as supporting cat colonies like Caboodle Ranch, into their existing frameworks. - **Animal Welfare:** The animal welfare industry can benefit from disruptive innovation opportunities by promoting community-driven initiatives to care for abandoned animals, as seen in Caboodle Ranch, rather than relying solely on traditional animal welfare systems. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Non-Profit Pet Rehoming Organizations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/my-grandfathers-cat.md) - [Cat-Catered Large Japanese Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/a-cat-tree-house.md) - [Feline-Focused Modern Homes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cat-tree-house-1.md) - [Vertical Feline Residences](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cat-tree-house-2.md) - [Cat-Focused Wooden Cafes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tristy-of-the-cats.md) - [Eclectic Cat-Specific Stores](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/triple-t-studios.md) - [Game-Based Pet Adoption Events](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gamebased-pet-adoption-event.md) - [Glam Pet Adoption Pop-Ups](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/uber-showcats.md) - [Understated NYC Cat Cafes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/meow-parlour.md)
