# Metaphorical Cabin-Inspired Dongles The Conceptual Cabin Memory Hub is Architecturally Inspired By Michael Hemsworth | Published 2019-02-26 | Tech Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cabin-memory-hub References: [yankodesign](https://www.yankodesign.com/2019/02/26/a-thought-provoking-dongle/) The conceptual Cabin Memory Hub has been designed as an architecturally inspired aftermarket computer solution that will infuse character into an otherwise simple piece of desktop equipment. The system consists of the [mini cabin](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/digital-house) that allows [USB drives](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sandisk-1) to be positioned into the chimney-inspired port for transferring them to your computer or even onto the external HDD that the cabin sits on. The white aesthetic of the solutions makes them appear covered in snow to further enhance the cabin-inspired look. The conceptual Cabin Memory Hub is the design work of the Homm Studio and draws attention to the correlation between USB hubs and mountain pass cabins. Both are focused on a transient protocol where people/files stay for a short while before moving on. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.3/10 - Popularity: 27% | Activity: 3% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Gadgets](https://www.trendhunter.com/gadgets) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Architectural-inspired Computer Accessories:** Opportunity to create computer accessories that incorporate architectural design elements, providing a unique and aesthetically pleasing user experience. - **Personalized USB Transfer Solutions:** Disruptive innovation opportunity to develop customizable USB transfer solutions that add character and uniqueness to the otherwise mundane process. - **Nature-inspired Tech Designs:** Potential for technology designs that draw inspiration from nature, creating a connection between the digital world and the natural environment. ### Who This Affects Most - **Computer Accessories:** The computer accessory industry can explore incorporating architectural design elements into their products, providing customers with unique and visually appealing options. - **Technology Gadgets:** Opportunity for tech companies to develop personalized USB transfer solutions that not only serve a function but also reflect the individuality of the user. - **Interior Design:** Interior design industry can explore integrating nature-inspired tech designs into their projects, creating a harmonious blend of technology and natural aesthetics. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Hyper-Efficient Connectivity Hubs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/save-usb-ssd-hub.md) - [Laptop-Attached Hub Drives](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/case-x.md) - [Shipping Container Storage Drives](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cargo-hard-drive1.md) - [Compact Desktop Organized Dongles](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hubkey.md) - [Monolithic Desktop Hard Drives](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/unidentifed-hard-disk-drive.md) - [SSD-Integrated USB Hubs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/satechi-hybrid-multiport-adapter.md) - [Icon-Shaped USB Drives](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/folderdrive.md) - [Data-Storing Computer Hubs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/external-ssd-drive.md) - [Playful External Hard-Disk Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cargo-hard-drive.md)
