Many would argue that the solution to traffic woes is to get our vehicles up in the air, so the Airbus 'Vahana' flying taxi aims to help make cab services more efficient at moving people around.

Fully autonomous, the Airbus 'Vahana' flying taxi is capable of carrying a single passenger at a time and takes off and lands vertically to decrease the amount of space needed to operate the unit.

Four rotors are equipped on the design of the flying taxi to help provide electric-powered propulsion, while the onboard avoidance technology would ensure the design would avoid obstacles. At present, the Airbus 'Vahana' flying taxi is being developed in San Jose, California and is projected to take to the sky with cab services in 2020.
