# Wireframe Lighting Fixtures This C12 Collective Reading Lamp is Afforded Steady Footing by Books By Amelia Roblin | Published 2011-10-09 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/c12-collective-reading-lamp References: [mocoloco](http://mocoloco.com/archives/024745.php) & [c12.it](http://www.c12.it/lampada.htm) There's not a whole lot to the C12 Collective Reading Lamp in terms of material, but the visual impact it establishes is as if the empty space it defines has been filled. The mere suggestion of form by the [thin framework of the table lamp](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/minimalist-lighting-design) makes the piece a bold statement through minimal composition. But the lightweight illuminator, with its [cage of a lampshade](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/foreshadow-table-lamp) and its exposed lightbulb, asks not to be treated as a stand-alone object a top a bedside table. The item is afforded more mass and density through the [slotting of books into its base](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/industrial-bookstand). Because its presence may be heavier than its structure, this project by Anita Donna Bianco risks being pushed off of its surface with little force applied. The C12 Collective Reading Lamp also provides the perfect place for keeping the magazines and novels that require its emitted light for deciphering. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.2/10 - Popularity: 50% | Activity: 9% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Minimalistic Lighting Design:** Opportunity for exploring minimalistic lighting fixtures that make bold statements through simple compositions. - **Functional Design Integration:** Opportunity for integrating functional elements, such as slots for books, into design objects for added mass and utility. - **Lighting as Decorative Objects:** Opportunity for transforming lighting fixtures into decorative objects by utilizing unique shapes and materials. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Interior Design:** Opportunity for interior designers to incorporate minimalistic lighting fixtures into their designs for a sleek and modern aesthetic. - **Furniture Design:** Opportunity for furniture designers to explore functional design integration by incorporating slots and compartments into their products. - **Lighting Manufacturing:** Opportunity for lighting manufacturers to create innovative and visually striking lighting fixtures that serve as both functional and decorative items. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Suspended Halo Light Fixtures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lamplox-minimalist-floor-lamp.md) - [Cabin-Shaped Reading Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/boof-reading-light.md) - [Sleek Contemporary Metal-Encased Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/library-lamp.md) - [Dynamic Bookend Lighting Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/stair-table.md) - [Minimal Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/takeout-lamp.md) - [Brutalist Bedside Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vestige-lamp.md) - [Elegant Compact Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/air-table-light.md) - [Minimal Aesthetic Light Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flat-light.md) - [Sculptural Metal Lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/polyshape.md)
