# Industrial Clamp Lights Chris Jackson's C-Lamp is Made Entirely from Scratch By Michael Hines | Published 2011-08-24 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/c-lamp References: [industrialdesignserved](http://www.industrialdesignserved.com/gallery/C-Lamp/987863) & [behance.net](http://www.behance.net/Northwards/frame) It doesn't take a genius to figure out just what tool Chris Jackson's C-Lamp is inspired by. Just in case you need a tip, the C-Lamp is designed to look like a C-Clamp, an adjustable clamp designed to hold two objects together. Jackson created every piece of the C-Lamp by hand using ingenuity, a furnace and some glue. The result is a lamp with a rough and [industrial look](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pivoting-lamps-collection). In an age of ultra-modern design, this is a welcomed change from the dainty [minimalist interior decoration](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/takeout-lamp) that has taken over the industry. Unfortunately, the C-Lamp seems to be a one-off design. Still, I wouldn't be surprised to see [mass-produced designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/analog-lamps-1) in the future that incorporate clamps. A C-Clamp living room set can't be far off. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.7/10 - Popularity: 33% | Activity: 11% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Industrial-style Lighting:** The C-Lamp demonstrates a trend towards rough and industrial-looking lighting design that stands out from the minimalist and ultra-modern options. - **Innovative Handmade Designs:** The C-Lamp represents a trend of handcrafted and unique products that provide a departure from mass-produced designs. - **Functional Decor:** The incorporation of clamps in design showcases a trend of functional decor that combines practicality with aesthetic appeal. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Interior Design:** The rough and industrial aesthetic of the C-Lamp presents an opportunity for interior designers to offer unique lighting options to their clients. - **Handmade/home Decor:** The handmade aspect of the C-Lamp opens up possibilities for artisans and home decor businesses to create and sell similar one-of-a-kind products. - **Furniture Manufacturing:** The potential for a C-Clamp living room set hints at an innovative opportunity for furniture manufacturers to create industrial-inspired furniture collections. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Multifunctional C-Shaped Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/clamp.md) - [Screw-Inspired Industrial Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/set-table-lamp.md) - [Industrial Contemporary Lighting Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/shop-light.md) - [Professional CNC-Machined Desk Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/hilight-lumenforge.md) - [Sculptural Wooden Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arc-lamp.md) - [Customizable Minimal Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-delta-lamp.md) - [Flatpack Lighting Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/allen-key-lamp.md) - [Removable Illuminator Lamp Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/frandsen-grasp-lamps.md) - [Scenic Architecture Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/architecture-inspired-table-lamp.md)
