Tokyo's 'First Cabin' is considered the world's first business-class capsule hotel. While capsule hotels are nothing new in Japan, this particular destination offers a number of luxurious amenities that are not provided by other convenience-based accommodations.

The First Cabin hotel is modeled after the lavish [business-class section of an airplane](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/la-premire-suites). The idea is to offer [luxurious sleeping quarters](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sleep-lab-rooms) in a compact space. The business-class capsule manages to combine comfort with functionality by providing guests with a bed, a side table and a large television. The rooms are also equipped with Wi-Fi and a personal safety box for valuables. Despite its comfy amenities, the room itself is only just over four square meters in size.

Although some travelers may find the idea of a capsule hotel a bit claustrophobic, this unique form of lodging has become a popular way for many Japanese cities to accommodate the growing influx of foreign visitors.
