Documentary photographer Daniel Cuthbert captured these spectacular photos of some of the groups of Bushmen of Africa. He used his medium format Rollei 6008i to capture the lives and personalities of two different groups of Bushmen, as well as the environment in which they dwell.
The photographer focuses on two groups of Bushmen specifically -- a family of Bushmen living a rather traditional and nomadic lifestyle in the Kalahari Desert, and Bushmen camps in Platfonitein, where most Khwe Bushmen live.
As in other parts of the continent, these Bushmen of Africa have few job prospects and many end up turning to alcohol and drugs, while teen pregnancy is common. This tragic reality is aptly conveyed by Cuthbert's photos.
