# Sandwich-Inspired Sofa Concepts The 'Burger' Sofa by Joao Teixeira is Held Together with Straps By Michael Hemsworth | Published 2022-08-16 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/burger-sofa References: [yankodesign](https://www.yankodesign.com/2022/08/15/burger-sofa-concept-is-made-of-cushions-squeezed-together-with-nothing-but-straps/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=burger-sofa-concept-is-made-of-cushions-squeezed-together-with-nothing-but-straps) & [teixeiradesignstudio](https://teixeiradesignstudio.com/) The 'Burger' sofa concept has been designed by Joao Teixeira as a modern piece of furniture that maintains a simple yet stylish form. The chair is achieved with a series of bulky cushions, which are held together with a strap achieved with wooden components and a leather portion in the front. This strap is the only thing keeping the furniture piece together, which eliminates the need for hardware and gives the unit a stylish flair. The 'Burger' sofa concept could also, depending on whether or not the strap could be removed, accommodate a modular user experience. This would speak to increasing consumer demand for customizable and modular decor items for the home as they seek out products that will grow with them. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 6.9/10 - Popularity: 99% | Activity: 95% | Freshness: 12% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/furniture) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Modular Furniture:** The 'Burger' sofa's potential removable strap allows for a modular user experience, presenting an opportunity for customizable furniture design. - **Hardware-less Furniture:** The strap holding the 'Burger' sofa together presents an opportunity to create hardware-less furniture designs. - **Bold Cushioning:** The 'Burger' sofa's bulky cushion design could inspire a trend towards bold cushioning in furniture design. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Furniture Design:** Furniture designers can explore modular and hardware-less furniture designs inspired by the 'Burger' sofa concept. - **Interior Design:** Interior designers can incorporate bold cushioning and modular furniture design inspired by the 'Burger' sofa concept. - **Manufacturing:** Manufacturers can explore new materials and techniques to create customizable and modular furniture designs inspired by the 'Burger' sofa concept. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Modular Butter-Inspired Sofas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/butter-sofa.md) - [Modular Minimalist Sofa Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/zonatta-bumper-sofa.md) - [Stacked Brick-Like Sofas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/soft-brick-modular-sofa.md) - [Laidback Modular Sofa Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/natuzzi-bao.md) - [Realistic Bread-Inspired Sofas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-loafa.md) - [Rippled Modular Furniture Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/puffa-furniture.md) - [Voluptuous Texture Sofa Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bretz-balaao.md) - [Curvaceous Modular Sofas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/blocks-modular-sofa.md) - [Flexible Landscape-Like Sofas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/airberg-sofa-collection.md)
