# Suspended Wrapped Seating Bundle by Extremis is Inspired by Random Branches in a Forest By Meghan Young | Published 2015-04-04 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bundle-by-extremis References: [deconiche](http://www.deconiche.com/bundle-by-extremis/) & [extremis.be](http://www.extremis.be/) Bundle by Extremis, a design studio based in Poperinge, Belgium, is a stunning [suspended seating](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/floating-bench) that could easily pass for a sculpture. Inspired by a bundle of branches, hence the name, it takes on a subtle [abstract form](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pul-collection) of long sticks wrapped in straps that appears to keep it all together. These straps are also what stretches upwards to keep it suspended while also acting as backrests. Specifically designed by Lionel Doyen, Bundle by Extremis can be considered in a number of ways: [a bench, sofa and daybed](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/settle-outdoor). A perfect way to add a little whimsy to a home or office, Bundle by Extremis is made for contemporary spaces that are looking for an artistic touch. People will feel both inspired and relaxed sitting on its surface. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.4/10 - Popularity: 67% | Activity: 26% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/furniture) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Suspended Seating:** The trend of suspended seating offers an opportunity for innovative designs that blur the line between furniture and sculpture. - **Abstract Design:** The trend of abstract design in furniture opens up opportunities for unique and visually striking pieces that add artistic flair to spaces. - **Multi-purpose Furniture:** The trend of multi-purpose furniture provides opportunities for versatile designs that can be used as benches, sofas, or daybeds. ### Where This Applies - **Furniture Design:** The furniture design industry can explore disruptive innovations in suspended seating and abstract designs to create visually stunning and versatile pieces. - **Interior Design:** The interior design industry can incorporate suspended seating and abstract designs into contemporary spaces, providing a whimsical and artistic touch. - **Workplace Design:** The workplace design industry can utilize suspended seating and multi-purpose furniture to create inspiring and relaxing environments for employees. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Balance-Inspired Seating Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/seating-collection.md) - [Climbing Rope-Crafted Furniture Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/entwined-objects.md) - [Bungee Cord Seating Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tcord-chair.md) - [Cocoon-Inspired Bench Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gandan-bench.md) - [Tree-Intertwined Metal Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tenir-bench.md) - [Dual Sculpture Seating Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/immaterial-0001.md) - [Paper Cord-Wrapped Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/modern-bench.md) - [Precariously Suspended Sofas](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/suspended-sofa.md) - [Sculptural Seating Carpets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rondin.md)
