Ultra modern, the sleek pieces all have an unusual detail that bonds them together: they are hollow in some shape or form. Interestingly, the concept behind the Bum Bum Collection revolves around using [musical instruments for other purposes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/frequency-20). Deconiche points out, "The same as a person who holds a shell to their ear to hear the ocean." Designed by Eugeni Quitlet for Vondom, the Bum Bum Collection is comprised of four pieces: an [armchair, couch, coffee table](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/la-pipe) and toro. Available in black or white, the playful designs are perfect for both contemporary homes and offices. They bring a nice touch of personality. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.5/10 - Popularity: 69% | Activity: 27% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Hollowed Furniture:** There is an opportunity for furniture designers to explore the use of hollowed-out designs in their products to create unique and modern pieces. - **Musical Instrument Inspiration:** Incorporating musical instrument elements into furniture design can offer innovative and playful options for both residential and commercial spaces. - **Sleek and Playful Designs:** Combining sleek aesthetics with playful elements in furniture design can create a sense of personality and style in contemporary homes and offices. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Furniture Design:** The furniture design industry can embrace hollowed-out designs and incorporate musical instrument inspirations to create unique and innovative furniture pieces. - **Home Decor:** Home decor industry professionals can consider incorporating hollowed furniture and playful designs inspired by musical instruments to offer customers modern and artistic options. - **Office Furniture:** Office furniture manufacturers and designers can explore the use of hollowed-out and sleek yet playful designs to bring personality and style to office spaces. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Human Form-Inspired Furniture Series](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-tube-collection.md) - [Dynamic Furniture Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tom-dixon-fat-and-plump.md) - [Voluptuous Seating Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/voluptuous-seating.md) - [Smart Bulbous Seating Solutions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/buffo.md) - [Playful Toy-Like Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/frunchroom-furniture-collection.md) - [Playful Casual Furniture Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/uchronia-wave.md) - [Latin Playground-Inspired Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-sum-of-small-parts.md) - [Oblong Color-Blocked Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/meritalia-morphologica-collection.md) - [Geometrical Head-Shaped Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/vondom-adan-collection.md)
