# Compact Skivvies Cleaners The Bulbe Washer Facilitates the Quick and Easy Rinsing of Your Undies By Amelia Roblin | Published 2014-04-14 | Eco Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bulbe-wash References: [yankodesign](http://www.yankodesign.com/2014/04/11/mom-says-never-leave-home-without-clean-underwear/) & [behance.net](https://www.behance.net/gallery/Bulbe/15836677) The Bulbe Washing Machine was dreamed up especially with students in mind. Designer Clémence Germain points out that students frequently cycle through all of their undergarments before a load of laundry can be done, predominantly because clothes-cleaning facilities are not always convenient in college residences and cheap rental accommodation. The solution was to come up with a laundering bucket that would hybridize hand-washing and machine washing. Capable of holding about 1.5kg of garments, the Bulbe Washer is ideal for T-Shirts and underwear in manageable loads. Simply fold up the many-petaled inner basket of the container, insert it and place several articles inside. Pour water in from the shower, the bathtub or the sink and you can let your items soak in detergent, or you can slosh them around manually by the handles. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 5.9/10 - Popularity: 85% | Activity: 83% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Eco](https://www.trendhunter.com/eco) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Compact Washing Machines:** The Bulbe Washer's compact design caters to the growing trend of compact and convenient washing machines. - **Hybrid Hand-machine Washing:** The Bulbe Washer taps into the trend of combining the ease of machine washing with the simplicity and efficiency of hand-washing. - **Student-friendly Laundry Solutions:** The Bulbe Washer addresses the need for convenient and efficient laundry solutions in college residences and rental accommodations. ### Who This Affects Most - **Appliances:** The Bulbe Washer presents an opportunity for innovative and compact washing machines in the appliance industry. - **Laundry Services:** Laundry service providers can capitalize on the trend of hybrid hand-machine washing by offering new services that cater to the growing consumer demand for convenience and efficiency. - **Student Housing:** The student housing industry can explore disruptive innovation opportunities by providing laundry solutions tailored specifically to the needs of students, such as implementing compact washing machines like the Bulbe Washer. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Miniature Portable Washing Machines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/conceptual-mini-washing-machine.md) - [Portable Ultrasonic Washing Machines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mini-washing-machine-concept.md) - [Foldable Portable Washing Machines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pqp-design.md) - [Portable Washing Machine Appliances](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/folding-washing-machine.md) - [Portable Mini Washing Machines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gsoak.md) - [Bedroom-Sized Washing Machines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mini-drum-washing-machine.md) - [Multipurpose Portable Washing Machines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wonertool-portable-washing-machine.md) - [Human Washing Machines](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mirai-human-washing-machine.md) - [Germ-Killing Clothing Cleaners](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/clothing-care-appliance.md)
