'Braille Bricks' are the name of a set of building block toys that have been specifically designed for children with impaired vision.

These toys are a design from the Dorina Nowill Foundation for the Blind that takes inspiration from the traditional [LEGO](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/braille-bricks) block shape. Just as classic LEGO building blocks have small raised knobs on them for interlocking, the [Braille Blocks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/braille-label-maker) also have bumps on them so that kids can learn to piece together words from the braille alphabet.

In school, many kids are taught the braille alphabet by using a typewriter that permanently punches the surface of a paper. Braille Blocks give kids greater freedom and flexibility when it comes to making mistakes, as the blocks can can simply be rearranged to form new words with the correct spelling.
