# Flimsy Fishy Tanks Be Ready to Catch the Bubble Tank by Psalt Design Because It's About to F By Ana Lopez | Published 2011-10-03 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bubble-tank-by-psalt-design References: [zeutch](http://www.zeutch.com/design/bubble-tank-by-psalt-design-27714) & [apinchofpsalt.wordpress](http://apinchofpsalt.wordpress.com/tag/psalt-design/) The [Bubble Tank](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bubble-stool) by Psalt Design combines three things to create a trippy optical effect: water, curves and a fish. This interesting tank seems to be ready to melt and fall off the table at any second -- this is minimalist but impressive design at its best. The object consists of a [circular-shaped tank](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/look-mum-no-uv) molded at the bottom with the purpose to be located between the two sides of a table or desk. Thus, the tank performs a balancing act by supporting itself just right at the edge of the furniture. One truly believes that the [fish tank](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lego-tropical-aquarium) is about to land on the floor and shatter into pieces. The Bubble Tank by Psalt Design is fun and risky for an aquatic pet and is a perfect decorative conversation piece. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.7/10 - Popularity: 26% | Activity: 77% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 30% men, 70% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Minimalist Design:** Opportunity for disruptive innovation lies in creating sleek, minimalist designs that blend functionality with visual appeal. - **Optical Illusion:** Exploring optical illusions in design opens up new possibilities for creating unique and attention-grabbing products. - **Interactive Decor:** The trend of interactive decor presents an opportunity to create conversation-starting and visually engaging pieces. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Furniture:** Innovative designs in furniture can leverage minimalist aesthetics and interactive elements to create unique and visually appealing pieces. - **Aquariums:** The aquarium industry can explore optical illusion designs to offer customers visually captivating tanks that stand out. - **Home Decor:** Disruptive innovation in the home decor industry can involve creating interactive and visually striking pieces that serve both functional and decorative purposes. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Fish Tank-Inspired Japanese Houses](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nao-iwanari.md) - [Modern Desk-Friendly Jellyfish Tanks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pet-jellyfish.md) - [Bubble-Inspired Pendant Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bubbles-lighting-design.md) - [Dreamlike Bubble-Shaped Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/airshape-lamp.md) - [Whimsical Glass Bubbled Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/peeka.md) - [Shimmering Oceanic Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/liquid-table.md) - [Curvaceous Abstract Side Tables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pet-table.md) - [Bubble-Inspired Bulbous Stools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bubble-stool.md) - [Rustic Ruin-Inspired Aquariums](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-sea-of-cortez-research-center.md)
