[YouTube](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chopstix) user Mennyi has recreated Beethoven's ninth symphony by shattering a plate, and then kicking the shards around the pavement to recreate the notes. The effect was accomplished with a whole lot of clever editing as well as a keen ear for pitch and notes. To create the effect of [multiple notes being played](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chrono-piano) at the same time, the video is split into four separate screens with the sound layered one on top of the other. Despite sounding a little out tune (next time he should make sure to tune his [broken plate shards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/light-into-darkness) properly), the effect of the video is surprisingly intoxicating. I never thought that broken plates could be so musical. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 1.3/10 - Popularity: 23% | Activity: 9% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Gen Alpha, Millennial - Top markets: North America, Europe ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Pop Culture](https://www.trendhunter.com/popculture) > [Internet](https://www.trendhunter.com/internet) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Shattered Soundscapes:** Using unconventional objects to create unique musical compositions through clever editing. - **Multimedia Melodies:** Layering different audio and video sources to create immersive and engaging musical experiences. - **Unconventional Instruments:** Exploring the musical potential of non-traditional objects and materials in innovative ways. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Music and Entertainment:** Exploring new ways to create and present music that captivates audiences through unconventional means. - **Digital Media and Editing:** Providing tools and techniques to enhance and manipulate audio and video content to create unique and engaging compositions. - **Art and Performance:** Fostering creativity and pushing boundaries in the realm of artistic expression by embracing unconventional practices and reinventing traditional forms. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Auditory Artwork Albums](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sound-of-a-masterpiece.md) - [Repurposed Studio Scrap Pottery](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/daon-pottery.md) - [Interactive Music Systems](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sound-maestro.md) - [Upcycled Object Exhibitions](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nendo-and-daniel-arsham.md) - [Talking Robotic Pianos](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chopstix.md) - [Sculptural Art Pianos](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/steel-and-stone-piano-v2.md) - [Visceral Record Turntables](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/orbit-kinetic.md) - [Tape Deck Instruments](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/magnetic-folklore.md) - [Multisensory Chocolate Bars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fortnum-mason-and-otherway.md)
