Italian architectural studio Carlana Mezzalira Pentimalli designs the [new Brixen Public Library](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/james-baldwin-media-library) found in South Tyrol, which fuses together old civic buildings together with [contemporary angular structures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/aydc-public-art-centre) for a juxtaposing look. It overlooks the central square in Brixen and the project blends together three former finance, prison buildings, and a court. The new addition can be found between two existing buildings and is complete with a pale finish flanked by two courtyards.

Carlana Mezzalira Pentimalli talks about the project, she states that "This is not a library intended as a [large container of books](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/reading-nooks) – quite the opposite. It is a project deeply rooted in its context, designed to welcome and generate human relationships and exchanges, intertwining cultures, practices and people of different ages."
