This cap plugs into the power port of your iPhone 5 and allows you to attach [LEGO](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/brick-my-world) bricks and minifigs to it. That's right, you can now build onto your iPhone 5. The connector was built by KB, a Taiwanese designer with an obvious affinity for LEGO. At first the Brick Lightning Cap may not sound all that functional. That being said, there are a lot of things that can be built with LEGO, including smartphone stands and cases. Attaching a minifig to your phone is also a fun way to customize it, sort of like [cellphone charms](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/charm-phone-case) used to be. The Brick Lightning Cap will drop in August and sell for $3.50. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.8/10 - Popularity: 73% | Activity: 63% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial - Top markets: North America, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Tech](https://www.trendhunter.com/tech) > [Mobile](https://www.trendhunter.com/mobile) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Customizable Smartphone Accessories:** The Brick Lightning Cap allows users to attach LEGO bricks and minifigs to their iPhone 5, opening up possibilities for customizable smartphone accessories. - **Lego-inspired Phone Customization:** The ability to build onto your iPhone 5 with LEGO bricks presents an opportunity for innovative LEGO-inspired phone customization. - **Revival of Cellphone Charms:** Attaching a minifig to your phone with the Brick Lightning Cap brings back the fun and personalized touch of cellphone charms in a new and LEGO-themed way. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Smartphone Accessories:** The Brick Lightning Cap opens up new opportunities for companies in the smartphone accessories industry to create customizable and LEGO-themed products. - **Toy Manufacturing:** The integration of LEGO bricks with smartphones presents an opportunity for the toy manufacturing industry to explore new collaborations and product lines. - **Tech Gadgets:** The introduction of the Brick Lightning Cap sparks the potential for disruptive innovation in the tech gadgets industry, merging traditional toys with modern technology. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Lego-Centric Apps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/brick-my-world.md) - [Playful Brick-Born Lighting](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/analog-lamps-1.md) - [Modular Brick Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/brick-light.md) - [Antique-Style Building Block Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lego-ideas-led-lamp.md) - [Modular Phone Breadboards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/commi-board.md) - [Power-Providing LED Smartphone Cases](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/starcase.md) - [Tech-Driven Building Toys](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lego-9.md) - [Toy Brick Organizing Platforms](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lego-fans.md) - [Phone Box-Inspired Building Sets](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lego-4.md)
