# Leaning LED Lights The Breeze Lamps Take Askew Postures as If the Wind Has Blown Them Over By Amelia Roblin | Published 2014-03-01 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/breeze-lamp References: [bao-nghi](http://bao-nghi.com/breeze-lamp/) There is a whimsical quality to the Breeze Lamps because, although they embody artificial forms made from industrial materials, they playfully reference the natural effect of standing amidst gale force winds. The pair of floor lamps comprises little round bases and and compact rectilinear lids that are joined by slender stands that slant dramatically. Bao-nghi Droste Design has given some personality to the [aluminum and steel pieces](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/polyshape) that might easily have exuded a minimalist or utilitarian quality. Look closely at the [LED-embedded tops](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/delite-20) of the Breeze Lamps and you'll notice that they're irregular trapezoid shapes, emphasizing the obliqueness that's made so prominent by the diagonal post. Practically speaking, the [tilted design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/horizon-table-light) of the blue and white lights makes them direction, and perfect for a desk or a bedside table. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.6/10 - Popularity: 59% | Activity: 40% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Whimsical Lighting Designs:** Designing playful lighting fixtures that reference natural elements and defy traditional design conventions. - **Sculptural Minimalism:** Creating minimalist designs that incorporate artistic and sculptural elements to add visual interest. - **Innovative LED Integration:** Incorporating LED technology into products in unique and unexpected ways to enhance functionality and design. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Interior Design:** Creating unique lighting fixtures to add visual interest and mood to interior spaces. - **Furniture Design:** Incorporating lighting into furniture pieces for added functionality and design appeal. - **Product Design:** Innovating new ways to integrate LED technology into various products for improved functionality and design. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Bold Playful Lighting Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/little-lebow-table-lamp.md) - [Tiltable Dimmable Lighting Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/nod-lamp.md) - [Sculptural Desk Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/leda.md) - [Sculptural Wooden Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arc-lamp.md) - [Umbrella-Inspired Whimsical Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/wasaga-lamp.md) - [Simplistic Angular Desktop Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/linear-table-lamp.md) - [Tornado-Inspired Illuminator Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/storm-lamp.md) - [Elegant Compact Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/air-table-light.md) - [Kinetic Insect Sculpture Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dragonfly-balance-light.md)
