# Bike-Like Furnishings 'Breeze' by HawaSoo is a Whimsical & Functional Furniture Piece By Katherinev123 | Published 2012-01-31 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/breeze-by-hawasoo References: [dezeen](http://www.dezeen.com/2012/01/30/breeze-by-hawasoo) & [japandesigncollective](http://japandesigncollective.com/?p=4552) You might do a double-take when looking at 'Breeze' by HawaSoo. This Seoul-based design team, comprising SungHa Lee and Minsoo Park, has created a functional furniture piece that looks like a bike. But a bike it's not -- 'Breeze' by HawaSoo is actually a multi-functional home design that offers lighting, a rack for clothing and a stool in one. At one end of the clothes rail is a large wheel, which gives he entire structure an odd and whimsical touch. The stool is slightly slanted with a red base, and the lamp is one long pole that has handles on each end (mimicking the handlebars on a bike) to support it against the wall. All together, the pieces take on the form of a bicycle. According to the designers, their goal was to create something that would tell a story, a story that "emerges with users’ experiences when people use the products." ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.5/10 - Popularity: 66% | Activity: 31% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Bike-inspired Furniture:** There is opportunity for creating a line of furniture that is designed like bikes to appeal to urban dwellers who prioritize both style and functionality. - **Multi-functional Design:** There is a trend in home design where people are looking for furniture pieces that serve multiple purposes to better maximize space usage. - **Whimsical Functional Pieces:** There is an opportunity for designers to create unique, playful pieces of furniture that perform a function without compromising on design. ### Who This Affects Most - **Furniture:** Furniture companies can capitalize on the trend of multi-functional pieces by creating innovative designs that effectively use space. - **Home Decor:** The whimsical and playful design of bike-inspired furniture can be applied in the home decor industry to create visually appealing pieces that can add character to any space. - **Interior Design:** Interior designers can offer bike-inspired furniture to their clients as a novel way of injecting playfulness and fun into any space. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Decor-Matching Exercise Bikes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/around-spinning-bike.md) - [Stylish Space-Saving Exercise Bikes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/theo-exercise-bike.md) - [Abandoned Bikes-Turned Art](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/objects-from-frames.md) - [Adaptable Foldable Electric Bikes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/buzzy-bike.md) - [Workstation-Equipped Electric Bikes](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/buck-bike.md) - [Bike-Friendly Outdoor Benches](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/pinajarro-bench.md) - [Architectural Midcentury Bike Racks](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/draken-bicycle-stand.md) - [Sleek Bicycle Store Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bicycle-store.md) - [Functional Decorative Rocking Stools](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rool-stool.md)
