[Moving as gracefully and precisely](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/art-in-motion-exhibition) as a ballerina, it works with one's breath in order to become animated. Created by artist Fraser Ross, Breath of Life was made using Flexinol, which is a type of wire that remembers its form even after being distorted. [Mimicking the growth of plants](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/plant-pulses), it only moves when you breathe into the belljars. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.2/10 - Popularity: 34% | Activity: 54% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What's Driving This Trend - **Interactive Art Installations:** The trend towards interactive art installations creates opportunities for artists like Fraser Ross to engage audiences and create unique experiences. - **Bio-inspired Design:** The trend of bio-inspired design opens up opportunities for artists and designers to create innovative pieces that mimic natural processes and phenomena. - **Materials with Shape Memory:** The trend towards using materials with shape memory, such as Flexinol, allows for the creation of dynamic and responsive artworks that can interact with human input. ### Who This Affects Most - **Art:** The art industry can embrace interactive and bio-inspired installations to attract new audiences and differentiate themselves in the market. - **Design:** In the design industry, there is a growing demand for products and installations that incorporate bio-inspired design principles. - **Materials Engineering:** The materials engineering industry can explore the development and application of shape memory materials for various innovative purposes, including art installations. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Blooming Clustered Art Forms](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/structural-botany.md) - [Interactive Kinetic Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/interactive-kinetic-sculptures.md) - [Inflatable Vibrant Art Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/forest-dancer.md) - [Reflective Public Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/flowers-and-butterflies-are-dancing.md) - [Monumental Air Installation](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/iwagumi-air-scape.md) - [Physics-Informed Digital Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/motion-sculpture.md) - [Resin Gravity Sculptures](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-great-tree.md) - [Outdoor Floral Sculpture Installations](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sculptures-at-kew-gardens.md) - [Fluid Function Art Exhibits](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/optical-flow.md)
