# Lighthouse Beacon Bulbs The Boya Lamp is Inspired by Simple Seaside Living By Gil Cohen | Published 2013-08-09 | Art & Design Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/boya-lamp References: [betterlivingthroughdesign](http://www.betterlivingthroughdesign.com/accessories/boya-lamp/) & [environmentfurniture](http://www.environmentfurniture.com/collection/category/lighting/boya-lamp) The filigree bulb encased in smokey gray glass sets the [Boya Lamp](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/boya-mini) apart as a minimalist desk lamp that is reminiscent of the lighthouse beacons flashing off of the coasts of stormy seas. One of the special features of this compact light is the dimmer option which allows users to choose how bright or dim they want their light to be and then remembers the last setting even after flicking the switch on and off. Designed by Outofstock and manufactured by Environment, the Boya Lamp has a base made of either solid reclaimed American oak or Natural Maple and creates a moody atmosphere as it diffuses light perfectly through its tinted glass for a soft glow that is never harsh. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.3/10 - Popularity: 73% | Activity: 47% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/furniture) ## Key Themes ### Why This Trend Is Growing - **Minimalist Lighting:** Opportunity for companies to create minimalist lamps inspired by nature, with unique designs and features. - **Smart Lighting:** Opportunity for companies to create smart lamps with memory features and dimmer options for personalized lighting experiences. - **Natural Materials:** Opportunity for companies to use natural and sustainable materials to manufacture lamps and other home decor products. ### Industries Being Reshaped - **Home Decor:** Opportunity for home decor companies to incorporate minimalist lamps with unique designs and smart features into their product offerings. - **Lighting:** Opportunity for lighting companies to create smart lamps with personalized lighting experiences and natural materials to appeal to environmentally conscious consumers. - **Furniture:** Opportunity for furniture companies to create minimalist lamps that complement their furniture line and add value to the overall customer experience. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Warm LED Artful Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/bellboy-table-lamp.md) - [Hollow Candle-Like Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lampe.md) - [Hanging Lantern-Like Table Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/woodo-table-lamp.md) - [Simplistic Angular Desktop Illuminators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/linear-table-lamp.md) - [Space-Saving Desk Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/spacesaving-desk-lamp.md) - [Retro-Tinged Compact Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/lari-mini.md) - [Cabin-Shaped Reading Lights](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/boof-reading-light.md) - [Traditional Tower-Inspired Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-pagoda-lamp.md) - [Whimsical Glass Bubbled Lamps](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/peeka.md)
