Refining a [retro visual concept](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/patricia-urquiola-x-andreu-world-bolete), the chair features a simplistic leather seat that is stretched over a hand-welded metal frame. The frame's sunburst pattern and unique silhouette make the piece a focal point of any chosen space. The piece is a perfect addition to a masculine study, a rustic living room and an industrial loft space that is designed with open-concept planning. West Elm's sculpted metal and leather bowl chair features a hand-welded iron frame and tan leather cover that appears aged for added effect. This furniture piece is rustic and refined, making it a great fit for both modern and traditional interiors. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 4.2/10 - Popularity: 79% | Activity: 38% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, Europe, Asia ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/design) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Retro-modern Furnishings:** Opportunity for designers to create modern interpretations of vintage designs. - **Mixed-material Furniture:** Opportunity to combine materials in unexpected ways to create unique pieces with texture and depth. - **Hand-welded Metal Frames:** Opportunity for skilled artisans to create bespoke furniture with intricate metal designs. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Furniture Design:** Designers can experiment with mixed materials and modern takes on vintage designs to create unique pieces that stand out in a crowded market. - **Artisanal Home Goods:** There is an opportunity for skilled artisans to showcase their talent and create bespoke furniture with intricate metal designs. - **Home Decor Retail:** Retailers can cater to customers seeking unique pieces and collaborate with designers and artisans to offer exclusive products. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Flamboyant Vintage-Inspired Armchairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/quiltana-armchair.md) - [Slick Futuristic Chair Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/classical-norwegian-design.md) - [Contemporary Leather Classic Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/sling-chair-1.md) - [Updated Midcentury Furniture Designs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fiberglass-shell-chairs.md) - [Ultra-Comfy Seating Collections](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/cushy-lounge-chair.md) - [Luxe Textured Upholstered Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kenmare.md) - [Radical Sculptural Art-Like Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/palla.md) - [Modernist Ski-Inspired Chairs](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/tip-chair.md) - [Retro-Modern Dining Room Furniture](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/patricia-urquiola-x-andreu-world-bolete.md)
