This intergalactic fridge will keep your beverages ice cold and protect them from unearthly space invaders. In the word of Star Trek the Borg ship is a cube-shaped spacecraft featured on Star Trek: The Next Generation. The cubic look of this celestial spaceship makes it the perfect sci-fi object to build a mini-fridge after. Rather than remaking the ship into a rectangular design, the creators at Think Geek simply redesigned the mini-fridge into a [cube shape](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/chieftec-the-cube). The fridge is covered in galactic etching and even comes with neon green LED lighting. You can fit nine cans snugly inside this Borg Cube fridge. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 3.4/10 - Popularity: 30% | Activity: 63% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 70% men, 30% women - Primary generations: Millennial - Top markets: North America ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Art & Design](https://www.trendhunter.com/artdesign) > [Kitchen](https://www.trendhunter.com/kitchen) ## Key Themes ### Key Themes Behind This Trend - **Sci-fi Mini-fridges:** A trend of creating mini-fridges based on sci-fi objects as a novelty item to cater to niche audiences. - **Galactic Etching Design:** A trend of incorporating galactic etching to create a unique design that caters to the interest of sci-fi enthusiasts. - **Led-lit Mini-fridges:** A trend of incorporating LED lighting to create a visually appealing aesthetic to target younger demographics. ### Where This Applies - **Appliance Industry:** An industry that can tap into niche markets to create novelty appliances as a way to differentiate from competitors. - **Sci-fi Fan Merchandise:** An industry that creates merchandise aimed at fans of specific sci-fi franchises, such as Star Trek, to satisfy the desires of superfans. - **Retail Industry:** An industry that caters to niche markets by selling novelty items that cater to the interests of specific demographics. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Cubic Sci-Fi Advent Calendars](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/star-trek-borg-cube-advent-calendar.md) - [Teen-Targeted Mini Fridges](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/so-chill-mini-fridge.md) - [Compact Connected Drink Fridges](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/rocco-super-smart-fridge.md) - [Sci-Fi Show Drinking Vessels](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/corkcicle-x-star-wars.md) - [Sleek Contemporary Smart Fridges](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/super-smart-fridge.md) - [Bespoke Multi-Section Refrigerators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/arte-mini-refrigerator.md) - [Wheel-Base Smart Refrigerators](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/fridze.md) - [Gaming-Influenced Beer Fridges](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/gaming-fridge.md) - [Sleek Food Display Fridges](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/kollect-smart.md)
