# Politically Incorrect Trailers 'The Dictator' by Sacha Baron Cohen May Offend By Rajie Kabli | Published 2011-12-17 | Pop Culture Source: Trend Hunter, https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/borat-as-the-dictator References: [hypebeast](http://hypebeast.com/2011/12/sacha-baron-cohens-the-dictator-film-trailer/) & [highsnobiety](http://www.highsnobiety.com/news/2011/12/14/trailer-the-dictator-sacha-baron-cohens-new-movie/) With TIME magazine announcing its person of the year to be, rightfully so, The Protester, it makes perfect sense for you to check out 'The Dictator' by Sacha Baron Cohen. Many have seen the actor play Borat or Ali G in a sort of awkward ad-lib fashion, but this looks like a legit movie with a real plot and even has some cool actors like John C. Reilly and Megan Fox. Loosely based around Saddam Hussain and maybe even a little bit of Gaddafi's dictatorship, Sacha plays an unruly dictator who ensures democracy never reaches his country. This is what Cohen does best, shedding comical relief on highly controversial subjective issues. Some find it offensive, some think its funny. Check out 'The Dictator' by Sacha Baron Cohen and judge for yourself. ## Trend Insights (Trend Hunter) - Score: 2.1/10 - Popularity: 11% | Activity: 44% | Freshness: 8% - Audience gender: 50% men, 50% women - Primary generations: Gen Z, Millennial, Gen X - Top markets: North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa ## Categories [Trend Hunter](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends) > [Pop Culture](https://www.trendhunter.com/popculture) > [Humor](https://www.trendhunter.com/humor) ## Key Themes ### What Makes This Trend Stand Out - **Controversial Comedy Films:** There is an opportunity for disruptive innovation in creating and promoting comedy films that push controversial boundaries. - **Political Satire:** There is an opportunity for disruptive innovation in creating and promoting political satire content in various media. - **Provocative Storytelling:** There is an opportunity for disruptive innovation in creating and promoting storytelling that provokes cultural, social and political discussions. ### Sectors Adopting This - **Film Industry:** The film industry has an opportunity for disruptive innovation in creating and promoting controversial comedy films and political satire content. - **TV and Streaming Industry:** The TV and streaming industry has an opportunity for disruptive innovation in creating and promoting provocative storytelling content that provokes cultural, social and political discussions. - **Media and Entertainment Industry:** The media and entertainment industry has an opportunity for disruptive innovation in creating and promoting provocative storytelling content that provokes cultural, social and political discussions in various media. ## Related on Trend Hunter - [Cheeky Movie-Referencing Mustards](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/dont-worry-dijon.md) - [Spoof Sci-Fi Beer Ads](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/liquid-death-x-rebel-moon.md) - [Flavor-Fueled Short Films](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/mccain-masala-movie.md) - [Surreal Imaginative Fantastical Films](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/problemista.md) - [Cinematic GenAI Campaigns](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/the-knowit-alls.md) - [Protective Snacking Pants](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/oreida-totprotecting-pants.md) - [Film-Inspired Condiment Ads](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/heinz-smiles.md) - [Comedic Laundry Campaigns](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/youre-gonna-need-more-tide.md) - [Cheeky Snack Chip Campaigns](https://www.trendhunter.com/trends/doritos-a-spicy-but-not-too-spicy-plumber.md)
